How to Get Commanders in Merge a Nuke

Every documented route a Commander enters your account through — free map spawns, event cities, the Contract Board, Mystery Supply Drops and paid packs — with the screens labelled. Updated September 2026.

There are five documented ways to get Commanders in Merge a Nuke. Commanders spawn on the map and are captured by landing the killing blow, which is the main free route and the only way to get several launch-era units. Event cities — Harbor, Oil Rig, Downtown, Shipping Port, Town Square and Alien Invasion — each drop from their own pool, and clearing a city is the most reliable way to target a specific unit. The Contract Board, added July 18, 2026, unlocks a Unique Commander (Diplomat was the first) once every other available contract is cleared, and that reward rotates every 14 days. Mystery Supply Drops run at roughly a 50% spawn chance every 3 minutes and pay a random Commander roll when destroyed.     Start at the left-edge buttons — Commanders now live in Inventory

    Everything you own is reached from the button column on the left of your island. This frame is from before the July 25, 2026 patch, when that column still carried a dedicated Commanders button beside Store, Index and Rebirth. The patch removed it: open Inventory now and your Commanders sit there alongside the new Explosion Effects category. Any guide telling you to tap a Commanders button was written before that patch.

    Watch for a spawn pod dropping onto the map

    Map spawns are the main free route and the only way to get several launch-era units. A Commander arrives on the map under a glowing pod with a light beam, and its nameplate and health bar appear above it — here a Sergeant. Everyone in that server sees the same spawn at the same time, so the useful reaction is to look at how many nukes you have loaded before you commit anything.

    Land the killing blow, not just damage

    A spawned Commander is captured by landing the killing blow, so chipping it and leaving it alive hands the unit to someone else. The Gunner in this frame still reads a full 8.5K/8.5K health bar on the far side of the server, which is what a fresh, untouched spawn looks like. Merge up first: one high-tier nuke that finishes the job beats a dozen low-tier hits that do not.

    Confirm the capture on screen before you equip

    A successful kill is announced in the middle of the screen — this frame reads You have sunk Overclocker. above the wreck ring left on the water. Overclocker is one of the units gated to map spawns, and it matters for progression because Rebirth 8 requires it alongside Barrier. Once that confirmation appears the Commander is yours: equip it from Inventory and read its level and cooldown off the card.

    Judge each server separately, because spawns are per-server

    Commanders spawn per server, so an empty-looking island is not proof that nothing is spawning. This overhead view marks three Commanders on one server at once — two Spotters and a Gunner, each with its own health bar — while neighbouring bases sit under LOCKED shields. Keep the claims honest: the source video's player bought an upgrade advertised as speeding up Commander spawn time by 100% and then reported he still did not see more Commanders spawning at all, so spawn-rate claims stay unconfirmed.

    Shoot Mystery Supply Drops for a random Commander roll

    Mystery Supply Drops run at roughly a 50% spawn chance every 3 minutes; destroy the drop and you get a random Commander roll. That is a labelled estimate, not a guarantee, and the roll table itself is Not published. In the source video the drop lands, the server prints A Rare Commander has spawned!, and the roll comes up a Spotter.     Clear event cities when you want one specific Commander

    Harbor, Oil Rig, Downtown, Shipping Port, Town Square and Alien Invasion each drop from their own pool, and clearing a city is the most reliable way to target a specific Commander. The per-city pools themselves are Pending, so treat any site publishing exact city-by-city drop tables as guessing. Event windows come and go: the July 4, 2026 Military Compound LTM ran roughly every 2 hours and clearing it spawned Stalker, and event-gated units such as Sergeant, Tank and Uncle Sam are only obtainable while their window is live.

    Finish the Contract Board for the rotating Unique Commander

    The Contract Board was added on July 18, 2026. Completing every other available contract unlocks a Unique Commander, and Diplomat was the first one offered. That reward slot rotates every 14 days, so check the current card before you grind toward it.     Read the pack odds in the Store before you spend Robux

    Advanced Warfare, Galactic and limited-time packs roll random Commanders, and the odds are steeply weighted toward the common end. Advanced Warfare is the only pack with published drop rates, and the Store screen prints them on the pack itself: 0.5% and 4.5% on the two limited units, then 10%, 20%, 30% and 35%. Roughly two thirds of rolls land on the two Rare filler units, and the one Legendary in the pack, Recon, also spawns free on the map. Roll rates for the Galactic and limited-time packs are Not published.

    Know what a dupe actually gives you

    A first-time pull is flagged on screen with a NEW COMMANDER card; anything you already own resolves silently. The source video's multi-roll came up Sapper, Recon, Scout, Grifter and Medic, and the player's own summary was blunt: it is kind of sad when you get a dupe, nothing happens. Contents beyond the published roll lists are Pending, which is why the free routes above are the honest first step for any account that is not already deep into Rebirth.

Which Commander route fits your account

Treat the five routes as three different questions. Which unit do I want, and can I choose it? Event cities and the Contract Board are the targeted routes — each city drops from its own pool, and the board's completed contract chain hands over a Unique Commander. How fast can I get anything? Map spawns and Mystery Supply Drops are the volume routes, both free, both contested and both ungoverned by published timers. And how much does certainty cost? Robux packs are the only route with a printed roll table, and that table is deliberately weighted toward the common end. Across all of them the same caveat holds: Nuke The Game publishes no official roster, Friday patches rebalance drop rates, and 26 ability entries in our database are still unverified — so trust your in-game Inventory over any wiki number, including ours.

Which Commander, at which rarity, is Not published, so nobody can honestly quote you a per-unit drop rate for Supply Drops.

How do you get the Diplomat Commander?

Diplomat was the first Unique Commander on the Contract Board, added July 18, 2026, unlocked by completing every other contract available on the board. The reward slot rotates every 14 days, so Diplomat may not be the current prize — check the card on the board before grinding for it specifically.

Are Merge a Nuke Commander drop rates published?

Only for the Advanced Warfare pack, and the Store screen shows them on the pack: 0.5% and 4.5% on the two limited units, then 10%, 20%, 30% and 35% across the rest. The July 25, 2026 Galactic pack shipped six Commanders with no published rarities, roll rates or ability text, and the limited-time Conquerors pack was never fully named. Friday patches also rebalance drop rates, so any percentage you see quoted is a snapshot.

Are Commander packs worth buying with Robux?

Try the free routes first. Roughly two thirds of Advanced Warfare rolls land on the two Rare filler units, and the only Legendary in that pack, Recon, also spawns free on the map. Event cities target a specific Commander far more reliably than a random roll does.
