Named roster

Merge a Nuke All Commanders

All 34 named commanders with rarity, how to get them, and which patch added them. Updated July 2026.

Commander names and patch dates are taken from update coverage. Rarities are listed only where coverage states them; abilities are marked pending unless an in-game card has been read. Nuke The Game does not publish an official roster, and Friday patches rebalance drop rates — always trust your in-game Inventory over any wiki.

The Commanders button is gone

Since the July 25, 2026 patch there is no Commanders button. Open Inventory instead — your commanders and the new Explosion Effects both live there.

Quick answer

There are 34 named commanders in Merge a Nuke, from Common up to Admiral — the top rarity, held only by Drone, Apache and Carrier. The newest six (Abductor, Leviathan, Wormhole Engineer, Recycler, Hologram Shaper and Smuggler) came from the July 25 Galactic pack and have no published rarities yet. Click any name for its own page. For rarity strategy without the name list, use the Commanders guide.

How this page differs from /commanders

/commanders ranks generic rarity tiers and playstyle effects (cash, spawn, raid).

/all-commanders is the named checklist players search for with queries like “all commanders”, “admiral”, and “artillery commander”.

How to obtain commanders

Map spawns

Commanders appear on the map and are captured by landing the killing blow. This is the main free route and the only way to get several launch-era units.

Event cities

Harbor, Oil Rig, Downtown, Shipping Port, Town Square and Alien Invasion each drop from their own pool. Clearing a city is the most reliable way to target a specific commander.

Contract Board

Added July 18. Completing every available contract unlocks a Unique Commander that rotates every 14 days — Diplomat was the first.

Mystery Supply Drops

Roughly a 50% spawn chance every 3 minutes. Destroy the drop for a random commander roll.

Robux packs

Advanced Warfare, Galactic and limited-time packs roll random commanders. Odds are steeply weighted toward the common end — try the free routes first.

Named commanders by rarity

34 named commanders on this snapshot (last updated 2026-07-27). Rarities marked Pending are units whose patch notes never published a rarity — we would rather say so than guess.

Packs & limited drops

Galactic Commander Pack

Reported 2026-07-25 · Six new commanders shipped with the July 25 patch. The notes did not publish rarities, drop rates or ability text for any of them, so every entry below is pending. Any site quoting exact percentages for this pack right now is guessing.

  • AbductorPendingPendingRarity and ability not published in the July 25 notes.
  • LeviathanPendingPendingRarity and ability not published in the July 25 notes.
  • Wormhole EngineerPendingPendingRarity and ability not published in the July 25 notes.
  • RecyclerPendingPendingRarity and ability not published in the July 25 notes.
  • Hologram ShaperPendingPendingRarity and ability not published in the July 25 notes.

Advanced Warfare Commander Pack

Reported 2026-07-13 · The only pack with published drop rates. Note how heavily it is weighted toward the two Rare units — roughly two thirds of all rolls.

  • DroneAdmiral0.5%The jackpot roll — 1 in 200.
  • ReconLegendary4.5%Also spawns in the base commander pool, so you can get it free.
  • MedicEpic10%
  • SapperEpic20%
  • ScoutRare30%
  • GrifterRare35%The single most likely outcome of any roll.

Conquerors Pack

Reported 2026-06-28 · A limited-time pack from the Commanders Pt. 2 window. Coverage says it added two commanders but never named them, and the pack rotates — the units inside can differ between windows. We are not guessing at names or odds for it.

No unit names or odds were published for this pack, so we do not list any.

Military Compound LTM & 4th of July

Reported 2026-07-04 · Event-gated additions. Military Compound ran roughly every 2 hours and clearing it spawned Stalker.

  • Uncle SamCommonEventHoliday event unit.
  • SergeantRareLTMMilitary Compound drop.
  • TankEpicLTMMilitary Compound drop.
  • StalkerLegendaryLTMSpawned by clearing Military Compound.

Playstyle shortlist

Income / AFK

Whatever your highest-rarity cash or production commander is — check the tooltip in Inventory

Passive cash scales every nuke and every offline session. Because no official numbers are published, the honest advice is to compare tooltips rather than trust a fixed ranking.

Wars / PvP

Artillery, Spotter or Gunner

All three are damage-leaning: Gunner explicitly increases nuclear attack damage against players, and Artillery and Spotter are the community's usual shelling and missile-damage picks.

Rebirth 8 chase

Overclocker + Barrier

Rebirth 8 is gated behind both of these plus the final nuke tier. If you are pushing progression, they are mandatory rather than optional.

Free-to-play

Map spawns and city clears over packs

Recon is the only Legendary in the Advanced Warfare pack that also spawns freely, and two thirds of pack rolls land on Rare filler. Clearing event cities targets specific units far more reliably.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many commanders are in Merge a Nuke?

34 named commanders have appeared across the June 20 launch, Commanders Pt. 2, the July 4 LTM, the Advanced Warfare pack, the Contract Board patch and the July 25 Galactic pack. The roster grows most Fridays, so treat any count as a snapshot.

Where is the Commanders button in Merge a Nuke?

It was removed in the July 25, 2026 patch and replaced with Inventory. Your commanders are still there, alongside the new Explosion Effects category. Any guide telling you to open a Commanders menu is out of date.

What is Admiral rarity in Merge a Nuke?

Admiral is the top rarity, above Legendary, introduced in Commanders Pt. 2. Only three units carry it: Drone, Apache and Carrier. Apache is arguably the hardest to get free, since its map spawn rate was cut to roughly 0.05%.

What is the best commander in Merge a Nuke?

There is no single best pick, because the game does not publish ability numbers. For wars, Gunner is the safest recommendation since its damage bonus against players is explicitly described. For progression, Overclocker and Barrier matter most because Rebirth 8 requires them.

How do I get the Galactic commanders?

Abductor, Leviathan, Wormhole Engineer, Recycler, Hologram Shaper and Smuggler come from the Galactic Commander Pack added on July 25, 2026. The patch notes did not publish drop rates or rarities for any of them, so be sceptical of any site quoting exact percentages.

How do I get the Diplomat commander?

Diplomat was the first Unique Commander on the Contract Board, unlocked by completing every other available contract. That reward slot rotates every 14 days, so check the board before grinding for it specifically.

Can you equip more than one commander at once?

Slot rules have changed several times across patches. Open Inventory and check your current equip limit rather than relying on older one-commander guides.

What is in the Conquerors pack in Merge a Nuke?

The Conquerors pack was a limited-time pack from the Commanders Pt. 2 window (June 28, 2026) that added two commanders. Coverage never named them, and the pack's contents rotate between windows, so any site listing specific Conquerors units or odds is guessing. Check the in-game shop for what is currently inside.

Is the Advanced Warfare pack worth it?

It is the only pack with published odds, and they are steep: 35% Grifter, 30% Scout, 20% Sapper, 10% Medic, 4.5% Recon and 0.5% Drone. Two thirds of rolls land on Rare filler, and Recon also spawns free on the map. We do not publish ROI claims — free spawns and code cash are the safer first step.
