Quick answer
Commander Tier List
Commanders ranked by overall value. Cash multipliers top the list because they scale every nuke and your offline income; attack commanders like the Spotter shine for raid-focused players.
| Tier | Commander | Rarity | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Legendary cash-multiplier commander | Legendary | Largest permanent cash multiplierBest overall pick — a top cash multiplier scales every nuke on your grid and compounds offline income. The end-game target. |
| A | Epic cash / spawn commander | Epic | Large cash or spawn boostStrong mid-late pick while you roll toward a Legendary. Take the cash variant for AFK, the spawn variant for fast progression. |
| B | The Spotter | Rare | Automatically increases launched-missile damageGreat for raiders — destroy fortified bases without needing max-tier nukes. The strongest non-Epic pick for an attack playstyle. |
| C | Common starter commander | Common | Small flat income or spawn bonusEarly filler. Useful in the first minutes, but replace it the moment you roll a Rare or higher. |
Commander Rarities
Common
Entry-level commanders you unlock early. Small flat income or spawn bonuses — useful at the start, replaced quickly.
Rare
Mid-tier commanders with a noticeable cash or spawn boost. A solid upgrade once you clear the opening tiers.
Epic
Strong commanders with sizeable multipliers. Worth chasing for the mid-to-late game income jump.
Legendary
Top-tier commanders with the largest multipliers — the late-game target that compounds offline and raid income.
Commander Effects
Every commander applies one main effect. Match the effect to how you play — pure AFK farmers want cash multipliers, while raiders benefit from raid boosts.
Cash multiplier
Boosts the passive cash/sec from every nuke on your grid. The most valuable effect for offline and AFK farming — prioritize it.
Spawn boost
Speeds up how fast you spawn bombs or raises starting tier, so you reach merge-ready duplicates faster in the early game.
Merge / luck boost
Improves merge odds or grants bonus drops, helping you climb the tier ladder with fewer wasted grid slots.
Raid boost
Increases raid damage or steal amount, suited to players who actively raid other bases instead of pure AFK farming.
Best Commander to Pick
Offline / AFK farming
Highest cash-multiplier Legendary you can unlock
A cash multiplier scales every nuke on your grid, so it compounds your offline earnings more than any other effect.
Fast early progression
Spawn-boost commander
More spawns per minute means more duplicates to merge, getting you to mid-tier nukes faster before switching to a cash commander.
Active raiding
Raid-boost commander
If you raid often, the extra steal amount can outpace pure passive bonuses — pair it with B-tier or higher nukes.
Use the Income Calculator to see how a cash multiplier changes your cash/sec before committing to a commander.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are commanders in Merge a Nuke?
Commanders are a feature added in the Commander Update. You unlock and equip a commander that applies a passive bonus — usually a cash multiplier, spawn boost, merge/luck boost, or raid boost — on top of your nukes.
What is the best commander in Merge a Nuke?
For most players, the highest-rarity Legendary cash-multiplier commander you can unlock is the best pick, because a cash multiplier scales every nuke on your grid and compounds offline earnings. For raiders, the Rare Spotter (boosts launched-missile damage) is the top attack commander. Spawn-boost commanders are better purely for fast early progression.
Is there a Merge a Nuke commander tier list?
Yes — ranked by overall value: S = Legendary cash-multiplier, A = Epic cash/spawn, B = the Rare Spotter (raid damage), C = Common starter commanders. Cash multipliers rank highest because they scale every nuke and your offline income. Rankings are community estimates and can change with Friday patches.
How do I unlock commanders in Merge a Nuke?
Open the Commanders menu on the left side of the screen, then unlock or roll commanders using in-game currency earned from your nukes. Redeem active codes for cash and nukes to unlock higher-rarity commanders faster.
Are there Merge a Nuke commander codes?
There is no separate commander-only code list — the regular Merge a Nuke codes (ATOMIC, UPDATE2, BOOM) give cash and nukes you can put toward unlocking commanders. Check our Codes page after every Friday patch.
How many commanders can I equip at once?
Most setups allow one active commander at a time, so equip your strongest available rarity. Commander bonuses and slot rules are community estimates and may change with Friday updates.
